1. About Sono

Sono is an on-device transcription and summarization app. It allows you to record or upload audio and video files, convert speech to text, and use AI-powered summaries and chat features. All transcription and AI features run locally on your device.

2. Free Features & Sono Pro

Sono is free to download and comes with a set of features you can use right away, including recording and transcription for shorter clips, AI summaries, and AI chat.

Sono Pro unlocks the full experience, including transcribing recordings up to 8 hours long and transcribing your own audio and video files. Pro is available two ways:

• An auto-renewing monthly subscription (with a free trial for new subscribers), or
• A one-time lifetime purchase that unlocks Pro forever, with no recurring charge.

There are no ads, ever.

A few things to know about the monthly subscription:

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription automatically renews at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before it ends.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple Account settings.
• If you switch from monthly to the lifetime purchase, remember to cancel your monthly subscription. Buying lifetime does not cancel it automatically, and Apple will not refund an active subscription on its own. To request a refund for unused time, follow the steps in Requesting Refund.

Current pricing and any free-trial details are always shown in the App Store before you buy, and may vary by region. All purchases, subscriptions, and refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store's policies.

If you already purchased Sono before Pro was introduced, thank you for your support. Your access carries over and you keep Pro at no additional cost.

3. Data & Privacy

Sono does not collect user data on our own servers. We have no accounts and no backend of our own.

All recording, transcription, and AI processing happens on your device. If you turn on the optional iCloud Sync feature, some of your content (like transcriptions, summaries, and attached images) is synced through your own private iCloud account so it stays available across your devices. This data stays within your Apple Account, and we have no access to it. Your original audio and video files are not uploaded.
